Aaron Bowen

about

Aaron Bowen signed his first professional deal with Matchroom at the end of 2022 after enjoying a stellar amateur career up at Light-Heavyweight.

The 24-year-old, who has a huge Midlands following from his hometown Coventry, was a five-time National Champion, picked up Gold at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2017 and won Bronze at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

He started life as a professional in the Super-Middleweight division, earning a first round stoppage of Mathieu Gomes on the undercard of Leigh Wood-Mauricio Lara in Nottingham in February 2023. Bowen made his second pro outing on the rematch between Lara and Wood, and was taken the distance by a tough Aljaz Venko.

Back out in August, Bowen floored Wilmer Baron in the second to pick up the second stoppage of his career to move to 3-0.

Injuries kept Bowen sidelined for 15 months until he eventually returned on the undercard of Sunny Edwards-Galal Yafai in Birmingham in November 2024. Bowen impressively shifted more than 500 tickets and did not disappoint with a thriller against James Todd. Bowen was dropped early but got off the canvas to floor and stop Todd with a vicious body shot in round five.

Bowen only had to wait a few months for his next outing, opening the Lewis Crocker-Paddy Donovan card in March 2025, banking six rounds to a points win.
